Phoenix server-to-cloud migration

Move your office server to the cloud

Your old server rises again in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365. We plan the move, migrate files, sign-in, email and applications, and retire the hardware, with a fixed price agreed before work starts.

Quick answer

Fasthuma IT Solutions & MSP moves Bay Area businesses from on-premises servers to Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 with its Phoenix server-to-cloud migration. It starts with an Ignite cloud readiness assessment at $1,500 flat, credited in full toward the migration, followed by a fixed-price quote. Fasthuma is a Microsoft CSP partner in Fremont, CA, in business since 2008.

Why move off the office server?

  • No more server replacements. No hardware to buy, warranty to renew or closet to cool.
  • Work from anywhere. Files, email and apps reachable securely from home, the road or a second office.
  • Recover faster. Cloud backups and Azure Site Recovery instead of one box in one building.
  • Stronger sign-in. Microsoft Entra ID with MFA protects every account.

An honest word on cost

The cloud is not always cheaper month to month than a server you already own. What it removes is the next hardware refresh, a single point of failure and the limits of working from one office. The Ignite assessment shows you the expected monthly cost before you decide.

Server memory and storage prices rose sharply in 2026: DRAM contract prices rose 90–95% in a single quarter, and Dell raised server list prices about 17% in March 2026 (StorageSwiss). The next hardware refresh can cost far more than the last one. The Ignite assessment compares a new server with the cloud for you.

What moves where

Often the best migration retires the server completely

Many businesses don’t need a server in the cloud at all. We move each job to the Microsoft service built for it, and use Azure servers only where an application needs one.

Shared folders with the right permissions, synced to laptops and reachable from anywhere.

One sign-in for Windows, Microsoft 365 and other apps, protected by MFA.

Line-of-business apps and databases on Azure virtual servers, sized for what you use.

Step 1

Ignite cloud readiness assessment

$1,500 flat

Flat fee for up to 3 servers; larger environments are quoted. Credited in full toward your Phoenix migration if you go ahead.

  • Inventory of your servers, files, applications, users and sign-in.
  • Which pieces move to Microsoft 365, which move to Azure, and what can be retired.
  • Estimated monthly Azure and Microsoft 365 cost.
  • Written migration plan, timeline and fixed-price Phoenix quote.

Step 2

Phoenix migration

Fixed price

Fixed-price quote after the Ignite assessment, before any work starts. The Ignite fee is credited in full.

  • Backups taken and checked before anything moves.
  • A pilot group moves first, so surprises show up early.
  • Cut-over planned to disrupt your team as little as possible.
  • Day-one support after the move.
  • Old server retired once everything is checked.

After the move

One monthly plan keeps it running

Once you’re in the cloud, the same Flame, Blaze and Inferno plans we use for managed IT keep your workstations, Azure servers and Microsoft 365 patched, backed up and supported. Inferno includes Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Microsoft 365 administration.

FAQ

Server-to-cloud migration questions

How much does it cost to move a server to the cloud?

It depends on how many servers, applications and users you have and how much data moves. Start with the Ignite cloud readiness assessment ($1,500 flat for up to 3 servers). It ends with a fixed-price Phoenix quote, and the Ignite fee is credited in full if you go ahead.

Will the cloud be cheaper than our server?

Not always month to month. The cloud removes the next server purchase, gives you better recovery and lets people work from anywhere. The Ignite assessment estimates the monthly cost so you can compare before deciding.

Do we need a server in Azure?

Often not. Files can move to SharePoint and OneDrive, sign-in to Microsoft Entra ID and email to Exchange Online. An Azure server is used only for applications that need one.

Can we keep some things in the office?

Yes. Some systems, such as shop-floor equipment or a local NAS for fast restores, can stay on site in a hybrid setup.

What happens to our old server?

Once everything is moved and checked, we help you retire it.

Can you also move our email from Google Workspace?

Yes. Mail, calendars, contacts and Drive files can move to Microsoft 365 as part of the same project.
