Quick answer

Fasthuma IT Solutions & MSP provides backup and disaster recovery for Bay Area businesses using Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery and Synology NAS, with a written recovery plan and scheduled restore tests.

Local copies for speed, cloud copies for safety

We keep a copy of your data on a Synology NAS in your office for fast restores, and a copy in Microsoft Azure in case the office itself is the problem. For servers that must keep running, Azure Site Recovery can bring them up in Azure.

A backup only counts if it restores. We test restores on a schedule and write down how to recover, step by step.

What’s included

  • Azure Backup for servers and files.
  • Azure Site Recovery to run key servers in Azure during an outage.
  • Synology NAS for fast local restores.
  • Microsoft 365 backup for email, OneDrive and SharePoint.
  • A written recovery runbook: who does what, in which order.
  • Scheduled restore tests, with the results shared with you.

FAQ

Backup & Disaster Recovery questions

Doesn’t Microsoft already back up Microsoft 365?

Microsoft keeps the service running and keeps deleted items for a limited time, but it is not a full backup you control. A separate Microsoft 365 backup lets you restore mail and files from a point in time you choose.

Why keep a local NAS if we back up to the cloud?

Restoring from a NAS in your office is usually faster for everyday mistakes. The cloud copy protects you if the office or the NAS itself is lost.

How often do you test restores?

On a schedule agreed in your recovery plan. You see the results.

What if we get hit by ransomware?

Backups are part of recovery. For investigating the attack itself, our incident response and forensics service on cyber.fasthuma.com comes on site.
